Israeli Gymnasts Daniela Munits and Meital Somkin Reach All-Around Final at World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships

Israeli rhythmic gymnasts Daniela Munits and Meital Maayan Somkin advanced to the all-around final at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships held in Frankfurt. Munits qualified in 13th place with a total of 83.000 points, while Somkin secured the 14th spot with 82.600 points, both based on their top three apparatus scores from the qualifications. Additionally, Munits earned a place in the hoop final after scoring 29.450 points in the qualification round, ranking third overall.

Munits' qualification scores included 29.450 for hoop, 26.900 for ball, 26.650 for clubs, and 26.100 for ribbon, totaling 109.100 points across all four apparatus. Somkin scored 28.100 in hoop, 27.150 in ball, 24.450 in clubs, and 27.350 in ribbon, accumulating 107.050 points in total.

The all-around final featuring the top 18 gymnasts will take place on Friday starting at 16:00 local time, with both Israeli athletes competing. Munits will also compete in the hoop final on Sunday, the day dedicated to apparatus finals. The Israeli team is supported by coaches Ayelet Zusman and Julieta Cantlopi, physiotherapist Natali Bartler, and judge Ela Samoplov.

On Saturday, the Israeli group team will begin competing in the group all-around event, where the top three teams will secure qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Avi Shagai, chairman of the Israeli Gymnastics Federation, praised the team's strong start and expressed optimism for the upcoming finals and the overall competition.
