Israel Finishes Fifth in Mixed Duet Technical Final at European Artistic Swimming Championships

The Israeli artistic swimming team continued its strong performance at the European Championships in Paris, with the mixed duet of Yogev Dagan and Lior Makmel securing fifth place in the technical routine final on August 2, 2026. Representing Maccabi Zichron Yaakov, the duo earned 193.8017 points, demonstrating a clean execution and a significant improvement in artistic impression scores compared to their previous youth European Championship performance in Munich, where they scored about six points lower.

This result marks Israel's highest achievement so far in the competition and contributes to the team's fourth consecutive final appearance at the event. Alongside the mixed duet technical final, the team also reached the finals in the technical and free duet events, placing tenth and eighth respectively. The Israeli team is set to compete next in the free team routine final scheduled for the following day.

The Israel Swimming Association expressed satisfaction with the young team's progress, noting that reaching four finals in four events is an impressive accomplishment. The team will also participate in the technical team routine and acrobatics events in the coming days, aiming to build on their current success at the European Championships.
