Israeli Humanitarian Aid Mission Departs for Colombia Following Earthquake
An Israeli humanitarian and rescue delegation named "Covenant of Friends" is scheduled to depart tonight for Colombia. The mission is jointly led by the Home Front Command and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The team will take off from Nevatim Airbase aboard an Israeli Air Force plane. Upon arrival, the delegation will immediately begin rescue operations and humanitarian aid efforts, including distributing food and water packages to earthquake victims.
The rescue force is headed by retired Brigadier General Yossi Pinto, commander of the Home Front Command's national rescue and recovery unit. The delegation consists of approximately 80 personnel, including rescue teams and specialists from various fields, both active duty and reservists.
