Israeli Mother and Daughter Vanish in Vienna as Investigation Intensifies

Nearly a week has passed since Israeli mother Mally and her daughter Liel Yehulomi disappeared during a vacation in Vienna, with no clues yet explaining their fate. Despite extensive efforts by Austrian police, Interpol, and security forces in neighboring countries, the investigation remains inconclusive. Austrian authorities have stated early on that there is no evidence of criminal activity or third-party involvement, complicating the use of invasive technological methods under local law.

In contrast, Israeli authorities have significantly escalated their involvement, upgrading the investigation with special units employing advanced intelligence and technological tools. A gag order was imposed on the investigation to protect sensitive operations abroad. Meanwhile, social media has been flooded with conspiracy theories, including unfounded links to Mally's workplace at Bank of Jerusalem, which both police and the bank have firmly denied.

The family, present both in Israel and Vienna, has urged investigators not to dismiss a nationalist motive, emphasizing the need to explore all possible leads, including those related to their Israeli identity. Mally's brother, Ronen, arrived in Vienna to support search efforts and pressure local authorities to intensify their work.
