Brazilian Defender Marcio Silva Nears Deal with Hapoel Ramat Gan
Hapoel Ramat Gan, recently promoted to the Israeli Premier League, is close to signing Brazilian defender Marcio Silva. The 25-year-old center-back, who can play both central defense positions, has developed through the youth systems of Palmeiras and Coritiba in Brazil. He made his senior debut with Coritiba and was loaned to Botafogo Sao Paulo. In March, Silva transferred to Ponte Preta in Brazil's Serie B, where he has made 26 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
If the deal is finalized, Hapoel Ramat Gan will be Silva's first club outside Brazil. The club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season, with the defender's signing expected to close one of its key roster spots.
