Portuguese Defender Jota Gonzalves Signs with Hapoel Ramat Gan
Hapoel Ramat Gan, newly promoted to the Israeli Premier League, officially announced the signing of Portuguese defender Jota Gonzalves on July 5, 2026. Gonzalves, 26, joins the club as a free agent after completing his contract with Vizela, a team in Portugal's second division. He is versatile, capable of playing both right and left center-back positions, and occasionally as a defensive midfielder.
Gonzalves began his professional career at Tondela before moving to Vizela, where he made 16 league appearances last season. He is the sixth new signing for Hapoel Ramat Gan this season, following Maxim Plakushchenko, Amit Tzur, Idan Barness, Ofek Ovadia, and Daniel Tishler, who joined on loan from Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The player is expected to join the team's training sessions soon and will participate in their upcoming training camp in Austria as they prepare for the new season in the top tier of Israeli football.
