Haifa Airport to Open Large New Parking Lot Amid Passenger Growth

The Israel Airports Authority announced plans to build a new parking lot at Haifa Airport, featuring approximately 900 parking spaces. The facility will cover about 20 dunams north of the passenger terminal and aims to accommodate the significant increase in flights and passenger numbers at the northern airport. This expansion reflects the growing aviation demand among residents of Haifa and the broader northern region.

In addition to the parking lot, the Airports Authority is collaborating closely with Haifa Municipality to explore additional transportation solutions. One proposal under consideration is a dedicated public transit line running directly from a central parking area in Haifa city to the airport terminal, providing frequent service to ease passenger access.

While construction is underway, the Airports Authority has launched an awareness campaign urging travelers and local residents to use public transportation whenever possible to reduce traffic congestion and parking demand around the airport. The authority emphasized that the airport's growth is a positive development for northern Israel and that they are committed to supporting this progress through all available means.
