The story · English

During a recent tour around the Mitzad settlement, located between Bethlehem and Hebron, photographer Yitzhak Carmeli documented a unique phenomenon in the area: dozens of water cisterns scattered across the open lands surrounding the settlement. Carmeli captured images of one of the most impressive cisterns situated near a public building within Mitzad. He noted that despite it being late summer, the cistern was still filled with water. Carmeli also descended a wooden ladder installed at the site to closely document the high water level inside the cistern, which remained stable even at the end of the hot season.
