Israeli Sociologist Avishai Ben Haim Joins Makor Rishon with Weekly Q&A Column

Dr. Avishai Ben Haim, a prominent Israeli journalist, commentator, and researcher of Israeli society, has joined the newspaper Makor Rishon. In his new role, he will write a weekly column in the newspaper's "Yoman" supplement, presented in a question-and-answer format. The column will explore a wide range of topics related to Israeli and Jewish identity, including the tensions between Haredi and Religious Zionist thought, Kabbalah and Jewish law, tradition and ethics, as well as cultural and sports issues such as the rivalry between Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Tel Aviv, the renaissance of Mizrahi music, and insights from traditional Jewish teachings.

Ben Haim holds a PhD in Jewish philosophy and is a recognized historian and analyst of the Haredi and Mizrahi traditional communities in Israel. He previously served as a Haredi affairs commentator for Channel 13 News and wrote a popular column for Maariv newspaper. He is also the author of bestselling in-depth series and books including "Second Israel," "A Righteous Man Was," and "The Traditionalism Manifesto." Currently, he is a regular panelist on the television program "The Patriots" and appears on other shows on Channel 14.
