Father of Fallen Hero to Write Ketubah for Eli-H Cohen and Ziv Avud's Wedding

Eli-H Cohen and Ziv Avud have chosen Moshe Shapira, father of the late Enar Shapira, to write their ketubah ahead of their wedding next week. This decision marks a poignant closure nearly three years after the tragic attack on October 7, when Eli-H and Ziv were inside a fortified shelter in Re'im. Enar Shapira, who heroically defended the shelter by blocking grenades, saved many lives but was killed in the attack. Ziv was among the survivors, while Eli-H was abducted to Gaza and returned to Israel after 505 days in captivity.

The couple expressed deep emotion about this connection, saying, "For us, this is a closure that is hard to put into words. Enar was part of the moment that changed our lives, and now his father will write our ketubah and be part of the moment where we choose life and love." They described their upcoming wedding as a "small victory of life" after a long and difficult journey since that day. They also thanked Moshe Shapira for the special bond and the honor of having him involved in their ceremony.
