Israeli Police Conduct Night of Drug Raids and Arrests in South Tel Aviv

Israeli police carried out a special enforcement operation in South Tel Aviv on Tuesday night targeting locations suspected of illegal drug trade, including areas around Shoken and Shaarei Teshuva streets. During the raids, officers seized nearly one million shekels in cash, including over 228,000 US dollars and 31,000 shekels, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking. Several suspects were arrested and taken for further investigation, including one individual found staying illegally in Israel.

The operation involved searches under court orders, with police confiscating numerous items related to drug offenses. Alongside the drug enforcement, police issued 25 traffic violation tickets and impounded 20 vehicles. One notable arrest was of a scooter rider on Levinsky Street who was caught riding on the sidewalk; he was identified as a West Bank resident staying in Israel without legal authorization.

The police emphasized the crackdown on criminal activity and illegal residency in South Tel Aviv, an area known for such challenges. The arrested suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
