Sports Instructor Charged with Sexual Offenses Against Disabled Women During Classes

Gilboa Dahan, a 52-year-old sports instructor from Netanya, has been indicted for sexual offenses committed against five female residents with intellectual disabilities at a care facility. The charges, filed by the Central District Prosecutor's Office at the Lod District Court, allege that Dahan exploited his position while conducting sports and walking group sessions three times a week. According to the indictment, he committed indecent acts during routine activities and while using sports equipment, sometimes in the presence of staff members. The offenses reportedly included inappropriate touching, fondling, and forcing victims to touch his genitalia.

The prosecution requested that Dahan remain in custody throughout the legal proceedings, citing concerns for public safety. Attorney Tal Gingis Gershon emphasized that Dahan targeted vulnerable victims who were unable to report his actions, describing them as "easy prey." The case highlights serious abuse of trust and exploitation of individuals with disabilities in a care environment. The court is expected to decide on the continuation of Dahan's detention as the trial progresses.
