Israeli Security Forces Rescue Gazelle From Basement in West Bank Village

Israeli Border Police fighters from the West Bank, detectives from the Coastal Border Police, and inspectors from the Nature and Parks Authority conducted a raid in the village of Ra'i near Jenin following intelligence information. During the operation, they discovered a gazelle confined in the basement of a private home. The gazelle, a protected wild animal whose possession is illegal, was seized and transferred for veterinary examination. It is expected to be relocated to the Ramat Gan Safari.

A suspect was arrested on suspicion of illegal hunting and possession of a wild animal and has been taken for further investigation. Police stated that after the investigation concludes, enforcement authorities will proceed with filing charges against the individual. The operation was led by the Menashe Brigade with intelligence guidance from the Coastal Border Police's YAMAR unit.
