Hapoel Be'er Sheva Pursues Two Foreign Signings Ahead of Champions League Playoff

Hapoel Be'er Sheva, the reigning Israeli champions, are accelerating their efforts to strengthen the squad by signing two foreign players before their upcoming UEFA Champions League playoff matches against Azerbaijan's Sabah FK. The club aims to register the new players in time for these crucial games, which could mark a historic achievement if they advance to the Champions League group stage.

Since the departure of defender Or Blorian, Be'er Sheva has been searching for a suitable replacement, focusing primarily on recruiting a foreign center-back. Alongside this, the club is also seeking an attacking midfielder to fill the void left by Kings Kangwa, who recently left the team, creating a significant gap in the midfield under coach Ran Kuzhukh.

Currently, Be'er Sheva's roster includes six foreign players: Jibril Diop, Pedro Amador, Lucas Ventura, Joao Victor, Javon East, and Igor Zlatanovic. The squad has room for two additional foreign players, allowing the club to add both a defender and an attacking midfielder. Coach Kuzhukh is not expected to face issues with the foreign player quota, as some foreign players are unlikely to play simultaneously, enabling flexibility in lineup choices.

The club is preparing for a demanding season competing in two tournaments, having secured a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stage. However, their primary ambition remains to achieve a historic qualification for the Champions League group stage by overcoming Sabah FK in the playoff round.
