Hapoel Be'er Sheva Plans Three Key Signings Ahead of Busy Season

Following a 4-0 loss to Hapoel Haifa in the Toto Cup fifth-place match, Hapoel Be'er Sheva is already focusing on strengthening its squad for the upcoming season. The Israeli champions are preparing for their playoff matches against Sabah in the UEFA Champions League qualification and are simultaneously building their roster for the demanding schedule ahead.

Coach Ran Kozuch revealed in a press conference that the club aims to reinforce three positions to compete effectively in both competitions. The first target is a foreign central defender, with talks underway with Cameroonian defender Omar Gonzalez, who recently became a free agent after leaving Al-Raed in Saudi Arabia. The second reinforcement sought is an Israeli midfielder, with two candidates from Maccabi Netanya, Bassam Zaaroura and Maor Levi, under consideration. The third position is a high-cost foreign attacker to replace Kings Kangwa, who was sold to Panathinaikos; the club desires a more offensive player in this role.

Regardless of the outcome against Sabah in the Champions League playoffs, Kozuch and his players have guaranteed participation in the group stage of one of UEFA's two major tournaments, necessitating a deep squad.
