IDF Tightens Siege on Hezbollah Militants in Strategic Underground Facility in Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are intensifying pressure on dozens of Hezbollah militants trapped in an underground facility on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. The militants remain besieged but not yet defeated. According to reports from Lebanon on Tuesday, the IDF has tightened the siege by cutting off water supplies to the facility. In response, the militants have attempted to smuggle equipment and supplies into the site using drones.

The IDF is working to isolate the militants and prevent any smuggling efforts. Much of the area is under Israeli control through observation and firepower, without direct ground troop presence, allowing for impactful airstrikes. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently confirmed Israel's strong military activity in Lebanon, including operations on the Ali Taher ridge, emphasizing the strategic and careful nature of the campaign.

About two weeks ago, following a Hezbollah explosive drone attack on an IDF engineering vehicle in southern Lebanon, which violated the ceasefire, the IDF destroyed Hezbollah tunnels near the Beaufort fortress using approximately 700 tons of explosives. The blast was so powerful that residents in the Galilee were advised to keep their windows open to avoid damage. The drone attack caused no casualties but was condemned by the IDF as a blatant ceasefire violation. The IDF continues to operate in the area to prevent Hezbollah from advancing terrorist activities along the Blue Line, where the 36th Division is deployed.
