Chef Haim Cohen Launches New Culinary Complex at Iconic Dizengoff 99 in Tel Aviv
Renowned Israeli chef Haim Cohen is opening a new restaurant complex at the iconic address Dizengoff 99 in Tel Aviv, a location deeply embedded in local cultural memory and famous for the cult film of the same name. The beautifully restored building will house Cohen's new culinary ventures, including brunch service initially, with plans to add lunch and dinner offerings later. The complex will also feature an Italian restaurant, an Asian bar, an event hall, and above it, the Isrotel Dizengoff 99 hotel.
The new venue will focus on local, personal cuisine emphasizing quality ingredients, seasonality, and a blend of simple and creative dishes. The brunch menu includes signature items such as Cohen's shakshuka (52 shekels), smoked salmon eggs Benedict (47 shekels), avocado bruschetta (52 shekels), spinach meritozzo with poached eggs (44 shekels), slow-scrambled eggs (42 shekels), sunny side up eggs (42 shekels), and the iconic Dixie pancake with whipped cream and fruit (48 shekels). Small plates like house-aged Albacore pastrami, egg salad, and tomato gazpacho will also be served, with offerings changing seasonally.
Cohen’s vision is to transform Dizengoff 99 into a vibrant hub that connects food, hospitality, culture, and the city’s spirit. The complex will not be kosher and will operate on weekends. Opening hours for brunch are Sunday to Friday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. This project follows Cohen’s previous ventures, including the kosher restaurant Miriam and a wine bar adjacent to the legendary Jaffa-Tel Aviv restaurant.
