Chef Einav Azguri Joins Pranzo Deli in Tel Aviv with New Home-Style Menu
Chef Einav Azguri, known for his iconic contributions to Tel Aviv's culinary scene at establishments like Bar Ovin and Saruseria, has recently joined the kitchen of Pranzo, a new deli by the Mela group in Tel Aviv. Diners can now enjoy his home-style dishes during lunch hours, with offerings including cauliflower mafrum, chicken masakhan, beef bourguignon, yellow curry tofu, baked chicken schnitzel, Greek moussaka, and Bolognese or spinach lasagna. Side dishes feature bulgur mujaddara, buttered mashed potatoes, and Italian vegetable stew called caponata. Lunch specials range from 44 to 84 shekels, with a 30% discount on all weight-based food at day’s end.
Pranzo also stocks a variety of delicacies such as pickled beef tongue, ikra, a special chopped liver recipe by Azguri, egg salad, okra, house-smoked mackerel, pickled herring, Caesar dressing, and salmon spread. The deli offers cakes, cookies, and uniquely seasoned nuts, aiming to be a convenient spot for tasty meals or take-home dinners. Pranzo is located at Basel 37, Tel Aviv.
