Ondes Wins Israeli Defense Ministry Contract to Develop Next-Gen Tactical Attack Drones

Israeli defense technology company Ondes has secured a strategic multi-million shekel contract from the Ministry of Defense to develop and produce a new generation of tactical attack drones for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). These drones are intended for widespread deployment across combat units to meet evolving operational needs on the battlefield.

The project is part of a broader Ministry of Defense initiative to expand tactical drone capabilities and integrate unmanned and autonomous systems into combat operations. Ondes will lead the development of cost-effective tactical attack drones featuring advanced aerial platforms, autonomous capabilities, operational mission integration, system engineering, production readiness, and compatibility with the IDF's command and control systems.

Attack drones have become a central component of modern warfare due to their ability to provide precise, flexible, and readily available strike options at the unit level. Ondes currently operates in four main areas: air defense and counter-unmanned aerial systems, aerial intelligence, air attack, and unmanned ground systems. The company incorporates AI-based control and mission management software to coordinate drones, sensors, robotic systems, combat forces, and command structures.

Ondes stated that winning this contract strengthens its position in the defense technology sector and aligns with its strategic growth plan, which includes expanding development, production, and support capabilities for advanced autonomous systems for security agencies in Israel and internationally.
