Ondes Wins Israeli Defense Ministry Contract to Develop Next-Gen Tactical Attack Drones

Israeli company Ondes announced on Tuesday that it has secured a multi-million shekel strategic contract from the Israeli Ministry of Defense to develop and produce next-generation tactical attack drones. This program is part of a broader effort by the Ministry to advance its tactical drone capabilities. Under the contract, Ondes will lead the development of a new generation of low-cost tactical attack drones designed to meet evolving operational requirements and enable widespread deployment across frontline combat units.

Tactical attack drones are becoming increasingly vital in modern military operations, providing forces with readily available, precise, and flexible air capabilities at the unit level. The next-generation capability will support the Defense Ministry’s evolving operational concepts and expand the use of unmanned and autonomous systems in tactical missions. The development effort will address full operational capability, including the aerial platform, autonomous functionality, mission integration, systems engineering, production readiness, and compatibility with broader command and control environments.

Ondes is building an integrated autonomous defense platform covering four key mission areas: air defense and countering unmanned aerial systems, aerial intelligence, air attack, and unmanned ground systems. AI-based control software, mission management, and decision-support tools will coordinate sensors, aerial platforms, robotic systems, operational units, and command environments to operate as a cohesive autonomous system.

This contract win reflects Ondes’ continued growth as a global technology company in the defense and security sectors. Its strategic growth plan focuses on integrating specialized technologies, such as those in the “Digital Bat” program, with shared engineering resources, manufacturing capabilities, supply chain management, customer access, program management, and field support infrastructure.
