Western Wall Prepares for 2026 Selichot Prayers with Full Schedule and Safety Measures

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation has finalized preparations to welcome hundreds of thousands of worshippers for the 2026 Selichot prayer events throughout the month of Elul. Starting on the night of August 15, 2026, at 00:15, the first major Selichot gathering will take place at the Western Wall plaza, with a total of 19 central prayer sessions planned during Elul, the Ten Days of Repentance, and the eve of Yom Kippur.

Each event will feature cantors, sound amplification systems, and large screens positioned around the plaza to accommodate the large crowds and ensure broad participation. The Foundation emphasized the importance of arriving early throughout the month to avoid overcrowding and maintain the safety and well-being of all attendees.

The prayer services will be dedicated to the welfare and unity of the State of Israel, specifically praying for the safety of IDF soldiers and security forces. All Selichot events will be broadcast live on Channel 14, the C14 website and app, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation’s website, and social media platforms, allowing those unable to attend in person to join the spiritual experience remotely.
