Israel-Lebanon Talks Delayed Amid Rising Tensions and Hezbollah Drone Attack

The next round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon has been postponed due to escalating tensions between the two countries, according to a report by Kan News on Monday evening. Lebanon refuses to hold talks soon in protest against Israel's failure to expand withdrawal zones. Meanwhile, Israel has lodged complaints with the United States about the Lebanese military's actions, accusing it of coordinating with Hezbollah.

On Friday, Hezbollah launched an explosive drone toward Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops near the Ali Tahar ridge north of Beaufort. The attack caused no injuries or damage. Despite this violation of the ceasefire, the IDF spokesperson chose not to publicly disclose the incident, as the drone was believed to be part of an attempt by Hezbollah to assist militants in escaping through an underground route in the area.

Earlier that week, the most recent round of talks between Israel and Lebanon began, but Lebanese Foreign Minister Joseph Aoun completely boycotted the sessions due to his nationalist stance against Hezbollah. Israel continues to accuse Hezbollah of breaching the ceasefire, prompting the IDF to conduct an unusual wave of strikes in southern Lebanon. The ongoing conflict has also led to the funerals of Israeli soldiers Harel and Tamir, who fell in Lebanon.
