Artificial intelligence technology is increasingly serving as a personal fashion consultant, providing outfit recommendations and virtual try-on simulations. AI expert Dalia Bayda demonstrated this on the Israeli morning show "HaOlam HaBoker," using Google's Gemini software. She uploaded a photo of her outfit along with two shoe options and asked the AI which shoe better matched her look. The AI analyzed her neutral-toned outfit and recommended blue shoes, explaining that the color added a stylish pop to her ensemble. The software also visually superimposed the suggested shoes onto her photo.
Beyond single-item advice, the AI can recreate entire "inspiration looks" from online sources within a set budget. Bayda showed how she uploaded a photo featuring pink striped pants, a shirt, hat, and accessories, then asked the AI to find similar items online for under 500 shekels. The AI identified alternatives from retailers like SHEIN and ASOS, producing a detailed comparison table with prices, links, and match percentages.
The most advanced feature Bayda highlighted is the "Virtual Try-On" technology, which allows users to see how clothes would fit their body and face proportions before purchasing. She demonstrated this by uploading a photo of a polka-dot dress and boots seen on an online model, and the AI accurately dressed her own image in those items. Bayda explained that the process is simple: users upload a relevant photo to Gemini, enter a prompt, and receive styling results with ongoing consultation options.
