Maccabi Haifa Set to Earn Record Transfer Fee from Anan Khalaily's Move to Crystal Palace

Maccabi Haifa is poised to receive a significantly higher income than expected from Anan Khalaily's impending transfer to Crystal Palace. The deal, valued at 28 million euros with 24.5 million euros as a direct transfer fee, will make Khalaily the most expensive Israeli player ever and provide substantial funds to Haifa. The club is estimated to gain approximately 3.6 million euros from the transfer, including 2.7 million euros from a percentage of the future sale and an additional 1 million euros from development fees, as Khalaily was raised in their academy. These development fees will also apply to any future transfers of Khalaily, independent of the clubs involved.

This amount exceeds what Haifa would have earned if Khalaily had transferred to Inter Milan, where the total deal was reportedly 25 million euros including bonuses. The financial benefit to Haifa is calculated based on the direct transfer payment, excluding bonuses, making the Crystal Palace move more lucrative for the club. So far in the current transfer window, Haifa has earned 5.95 million euros, including 2.8 million from Georgi Yomarkov's sale and 2.5 million from Lyes Issat's transfer. The additional funds from Khalaily's transfer will enable Haifa, which has recently signed several foreign players on low fees or free transfers, to invest further in the squad.
