Firefighters Battle Spreading Blaze Near Haredi Settlement Yesodot

On Monday, firefighters from the Central District are actively combating a wildfire near the Haredi settlement of Yesodot. The fire, which began as a grass fire, has spread to nearby beehives and orchards due to weather conditions. Seventeen firefighting teams from the Rehovot station, supported by additional regional units, are working across multiple fronts to contain the blaze and protect the settlement and surrounding structures.

A firefighting helicopter has been deployed to assess the situation from the air, helping identify flare-up points and coordinate ground efforts. The primary goal remains to prevent the fire from reaching residential areas and causing damage to orchards and beehives.

This incident follows several recent wildfires across Israel, including a significant fire in the Jordan Valley near Moshav Argaman, where six firefighting aircraft from the "Elad" squadron supported ground teams. That fire also threatened date palm orchards and a nature reserve.

Firefighting operations continue with a focus on containment and minimizing harm to the local community and agricultural assets.
