Suspect in Netivot Killing Released by Court, Police Appeal Decision

A young man arrested shortly after the killing of Osher Kedoshim in Netivot was released by the Beersheba Magistrate's Court, which ruled there was no evidence he committed the shooting. The suspect was present at the scene and initially suspected of involvement, but not as the shooter. Police opposed the release and filed an appeal, delaying his freedom until the appeal hearing. Judge Yoram Broza ordered the release, recognizing the suspect's lack of connection to the crime. The suspect's lawyer, Ayal Avital, stated from the start that his client was innocent and merely a witness caught in a tragic event. The police continue to investigate the murder while the suspect remains in custody pending the appeal outcome.
