Main Suspect Released in Investigation of Oser Kedoshim Killing in Netivot

A significant development occurred in the investigation into the killing of Oser Kedoshim in Netivot about a month ago, as the primary suspect was released from custody after 20 days. The suspect, a resident of Netivot, was initially detained on suspicion of involvement in the incident but not in the shooting itself. Police investigations revealed that the suspect was present at the scene near Kedoshim, who had arrived with the shooter. The suspect's lawyer, Eyal Avital, stated, "I am glad the police concluded my client is innocent and decided to release him."

The killing took place roughly three weeks ago, with Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics providing emergency care to Kedoshim, who was unconscious with a penetrating injury, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. Following the incident, numerous police forces from the Negev region were dispatched to investigate, collecting evidence and conducting intelligence operations to identify those involved.

Southern District Police Chief, Commissioner Chaim Bublil, assigned the investigation to the Central Unit of the Negev district. Additionally, a 29-year-old man, likely a passerby uninvolved in the attack, was lightly injured with penetrating wounds and treated by MDA teams. Sources familiar with the investigation told Walla that some suspects may have already left the country.
