Shiral Chugag Joins Gadi Eizenkot to Lead Public Service Reform in Israel

Shiral Chugag, a businessman and social activist from Ofakim, announced on Monday that he is joining the political party "Yashar! with Eizenkot," led by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot. Chugag will spearhead the party's initiative to improve government efficiency and public services for Israeli citizens. With extensive managerial experience, including serving as CEO of the AM network, Chugag brings a background in leading growth and efficiency processes in Israeli and international companies.

Chugag became a prominent public voice following the Hamas attack on October 7, during which his sister, Dr. Eli Chugag, and her family were injured and fled from Kibbutz Nir Oz. He has since advocated for accountability, change, and a state commission of inquiry into the failures that led to the tragedy. Eizenkot praised Chugag as a symbol of citizens who took responsibility after October 7 and emphasized his managerial skills and faith in the country.

The reform plan Chugag will promote aims to restore professionalism and excellence in public service, focusing on government actions that benefit citizens. Eizenkot stressed that improving government services is essential for Israel's recovery and restoring public trust. Chugag stated his motivation to join the party stems from a desire to inject responsibility, professionalism, and action into state institutions, building a public service where the citizen is the core purpose.

In the coming weeks, Chugag is expected to present a detailed government efficiency program emphasizing innovation, excellence, entrepreneurship, improved decision-making processes, and closing the gap between government decisions and their implementation.
