Israeli Businessman Shir'el Hogeg Joins Gadi Eizenkot's Yashar Party to Lead Government Efficiency Program

Shir'el Hogeg, a businessman and entrepreneur from Ofakim and former CEO of the AM:PM retail chain, has joined the Yashar party led by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot. Hogeg will spearhead a new initiative aimed at improving government service efficiency for Israeli citizens, the party announced recently.

Hogeg brings extensive managerial experience in leading large organizations and driving growth and efficiency in both Israeli and international companies. His appointment comes amid personal hardship, as his sister Dr. Elay Hogeg and her husband were injured during the Hamas attack on Kibbutz Kfar Aza and managed to escape with their infant daughter.

Gadi Eizenkot praised Hogeg as a symbol of citizens who took responsibility following the October 7 attacks and emphasized that Hogeg's mission is to restore excellence, professionalism, and execution capability to the public service. Hogeg stated he joined Yashar because he believes it is time to infuse the state’s systems with responsibility, professionalism, and action. He plans to present a program in the coming weeks that will integrate Israeli innovation and entrepreneurship into government ministries to enhance decision-making processes.

This development is part of Yashar's broader efforts ahead of the 2026 elections to promote reform and efficiency in Israel’s public sector.
