Former AM:PM CEO Shiraz Chugag Joins Gadi Eizenkot’s Yashar Party to Reform Government Services

Gadi Eizenkot’s political party, Yashar, announced the addition of Shiraz Chugag, former CEO of AM:PM, who will lead an initiative to improve government service efficiency. Eizenkot praised Chugag as a successful Israeli leader with deep managerial experience and a strong belief in the state and its people. He emphasized that enhancing public service is essential for restoring Israel’s government and public trust, which was severely damaged on October 7 and prior to that due to years of political appointments and weakened oversight.

Chugag explained his decision to join Yashar by highlighting the urgent need to bring responsibility, professionalism, and action into state institutions. He criticized the neglect and political prioritization over national needs, calling for a clean, excellent public service that centers on the citizen. Chugag plans to present a program that will introduce Israeli innovation and entrepreneurship into government ministries, improve decision-making processes, and build a more efficient and service-oriented state for all citizens.

Reflecting on the October 7 events, Chugag noted they revealed the depth of systemic failure but also demonstrated the strength of Israeli society and individuals who take responsibility for the country’s future. He stressed the importance of bridging the gap between government decisions and their impact on citizens, asserting that citizens must be at the heart of government action and that decisions must translate into real-world results.

The announcement comes ahead of the 2026 elections and follows calls for a national inquiry into the failures exposed on October 7. Yashar’s platform focuses on restoring professionalism and effectiveness to Israel’s public sector.
