Former South Sharon Regional Council Head Joins Gadi Eizenkot’s Yashar Party Ahead of Elections

Gadi Eizenkot’s political party, Yashar! with Eizenkot, has strengthened its ranks by adding Oshrat Gani Gonen, the head of the South Sharon Regional Council. Gani Gonen, who has led the council since 2018 and previously served as CEO of Kfar Saba Municipality, brings over 30 years of experience in local and regional governance. She is married with four children, resides in Neve Yamin, served as an education officer in the IDF, and holds degrees in non-formal education and educational counseling.

The party emphasized that her inclusion aims to reinforce its focus on local government, regional councils, and rural development. Gani Gonen joins a list of notable figures in the party, including former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen, former ministers Matan Kahana and Orit Farkash-Hacohen, economist Shaul Meridor, former government coordinator for the territories Kamil Abu Roken, and former Labor Ministry director Tair Ifargan.

Party chairman Gadi Eizenkot praised Gani Gonen’s proven leadership and deep understanding of local challenges, highlighting the party’s commitment to connecting grassroots leadership with national governance. Gani Gonen stated she joined Yashar! out of a belief that Israel needs a change toward honest, unifying national leadership that bridges local action with national decision-making to strengthen Israeli society and rural areas.
