Jerusalem Court Sets Deadline for Police Response in Tal Yanun Dradik's Release Request

Amir Shaked, a judge at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court, has ordered the police prosecution to urgently respond to the immediate release request for Tal Yanun Dradik. The court scheduled an urgent hearing for Tuesday at 11:00 AM to address the matter. This request follows a significant ruling by the District Court that declared the administrative detention order against Dradik invalid and void.

The petition describes Dradik's situation as being held for approximately 35 days without justification, labeling the detention as wrongful. It states there is no evidence linking Dradik to any offense, no realistic chance of conviction, and calls for his immediate release.

Additionally, the legal organization Honenu reported that the Central Command chief's attempt to extend Dradik's detention contradicts directives from the government. The appeal filed by the military commander against the military court's decision was against the position of Defense Minister Israel Katz, who instructed not to continue the detention order against Dradik.
