Father of Kidnapped Girl Confronts Israeli Transport Minister Over Gaza Conflict

Nissim Look, father of Shani Look who was kidnapped and murdered in Gaza on October 7, confronted Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev at Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda Market following a public event. Look expressed anger at the government, accusing it of funding Hamas and holding it responsible for the deaths of thousands, including his daughter. He described the scene around Regev as a "party" and criticized the celebratory atmosphere despite the ongoing tragedy.

Look revealed that he did not initially intend to protest but happened upon Regev's campaign vehicle after a canceled political meeting. He shouted at her, identifying himself as Shani's father and blaming the government for the weapons used by Hamas. Regev reportedly distanced herself while her supporters argued with Look, accusing him of bearing responsibility for the October 7 attacks.

He also raised questions about Regev's daughter’s whereabouts during the Hamas attack, noting his daughter's claim that she was evacuated from the Nova party area by 4:30 a.m., before the assault began. Look called for a thorough investigation into this timeline. He demanded the establishment of a strong state inquiry committee to hold accountable those responsible for the failures leading to the massacre.

Look criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies, particularly the transfer of Qatari funds to Hamas, which he said financed the weapons that killed his daughter. He urged Israel to complete its military campaign in Gaza without retreating. Despite the confrontation, Look later apologized to Regev personally, emphasizing the need for national unity and reconciliation amid the ongoing conflict.
