Popular Israeli Singer Released After Domestic Violence Arrest, Denies Assault Allegations

A well-known Israeli singer was released from custody on Sunday under restrictive conditions less than 24 hours after his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence against his partner. The singer's representatives described the incident as a "private argument between two partners" and denied all allegations of assault or violence, expressing trust in the court's decision to release him immediately and calling on the media and public to respect that ruling.

The arrest followed an incident on Saturday evening around 7 p.m., when the singer's partner came to his home to inform him she wanted to break up. According to police, the singer, who was asleep at the time, woke up and an argument ensued. The police said he demanded she not leave until she collected her belongings and threatened to throw them out the window when she said she could not take them immediately.

The confrontation continued in the parking lot where the partner and a friend were in a car. Police stated the singer asked for the parking remote and warned her to remove her belongings or face unknown consequences. When she tried to drive away, the singer stood in front of the vehicle, resulting in his leg being injured. He then broke the car window. Police arrived after a third-party report and found the singer agitated with a bleeding hand.

During court proceedings at the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion, the judge reviewed the evidence, including a confidential report, and decided there was reasonable suspicion but not enough to justify continued detention. The singer's lawyer confirmed his client admitted to breaking the car window after being injured by the vehicle. Some parts of the incident, including the window breaking, were captured on video.

The singer was initially detained on charges of threats and intentional property damage but was released with conditions pending further investigation.
