New Independent Talmud Torah Opens in Ramat Beit Shemesh D Amid Funding Challenges
Amid ongoing challenges and debates surrounding Torah education funding, a new Talmud Torah named "Divrei Chaim" has been established in Ramat Beit Shemesh D. This institution is unique in its complete independence from state funding, operating solely on religious principles without any financial support from government authorities. The foundation ceremony was recently held with significant participation from leading rabbis and Hasidic rebbes of the city, including the Vizhnitz Rebbe of Beit Shemesh.
Prominent Hasidic influencers such as Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Erlanger and Rabbi Tzvi Meir Zilberberg also attended, alongside local rabbinic leaders of Ramat Beit Shemesh D. They blessed the new institution and expressed hopes for divine assistance in educating the neighborhood's youth in pure Torah and fear of Heaven. This expansion reflects a broader trend of educational institutions choosing full separation from state involvement to preserve religious integrity.
