New Kollel Opens in Beit Shemesh, Expanding Torah Study

A new kollel, "Teshuvot Ve'Hanhagot," was established in Beit Shemesh, attended by city rabbis and hundreds of scholars. The event celebrated the expansion of the kollel, adding 100 more scholars to its ranks.

The opening ceremony took place at the Yeshiva Rama's study hall. Rabbi Berel Fischer, a close associate of Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch, spoke about Rabbi Sternbuch's dedication to Torah scholars, emphasizing his paternal concern for every scholar and his efforts to open more kollels.

Rabbi Chaim Yechezkel Sternbuch, son of Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch and head of the kollel, delivered a passionate speech. He likened admitting a scholar to a kollel to the bringing of a Torah scroll, stating that each new kollel built is akin to the rebuilding of Jerusalem. He expressed his commitment to further expand the kollel, potentially adding hundreds more scholars.

Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch, the presiding authority, addressed the attendees, highlighting the supreme importance of Torah study. He quoted the Baal Shem Tov, explaining that the evil inclination prefers Jews to perform many good deeds rather than study Torah, as Torah study is paramount in overcoming negative forces. He concluded by blessing the kollel's leadership and scholars, wishing them success in elevating Torah study.
