Sniper Rifle and Ammunition Seized in Golan Workshop, Business Temporarily Closed

During a proactive search on August 4, 2026, police and Border Police fighters seized a sniper rifle, ammunition, and other weapons at a metal workshop in Bukata, a settlement in the Golan Heights. The search was conducted under a court order, leading to the arrest of the workshop owner and another suspect. Following the operation, Deputy Chief Eran Tabiv of the Golan police station ordered the workshop to be closed for 30 days.

The police stated that this action is part of a focused enforcement campaign against illegal weapons offenses. Since the beginning of the year, over 530 lethal weapons have been confiscated in the northern district, and armed cells have been thwarted. The seizure highlights ongoing efforts to combat illegal arms in the region.

The temporary closure of the workshop reflects the authorities' commitment to curbing the possession and distribution of illegal firearms in the Golan Heights and surrounding areas.
