Rabbi Amram Lida, Senior Student of Rabbi Ginzburg, Passes Away at 81

Rabbi Amram Lida, a longtime devoted student of Rabbi Yitzchak Ginzburg and a key figure in transcribing, editing, and disseminating his teachings, passed away at the age of 81 on Friday evening. His funeral is scheduled for Sunday at 17:45 at the Meitar Cemetery.

Lida began his spiritual journey toward Judaism at age 35, gradually immersing himself in the study of rabbinic texts and Torah lessons. At that time, he lived in Beersheba with his wife Ofra and their two sons, working professionally as a certified surveyor and running his own surveying office.

He first attended Rabbi Ginzburg's class in Ramat Aviv and became a regular participant. After his initial lesson, Lida started meticulously transcribing the teachings he heard, which evolved into a large-scale project of rewriting, editing, and distributing the lessons. He frequently listened to recordings of the Rabbi's classes, edited the content, and printed booklets that he shared within his community.

Over the years, Lida invited Rabbi Ginzburg to deliver lessons in Beersheba, Ofakim, and Meitar, and he also edited lessons given in these locations. On many occasions, Lida himself taught classes in place of the Rabbi. A significant part of his work was dedicated to editing books based on Rabbi Ginzburg's lessons, including "Chasdei David HaNe'emanim - The ARI's Kabbalah in the Light of Chassidut" and the "Selected Contemplation Lessons" series. "Chasdei David HaNe'emanim" was published in five volumes, and 17 volumes of "Selected Contemplation Lessons" were released. All of Lida's transcription and editorial work was done voluntarily.
