Hezbollah Launches Explosive Drone at Israeli Forces in South Lebanon Amid Ceasefire

A few days after two Israeli reservists were killed by a roadside bomb, Hezbollah violated the ceasefire again by sending an explosive drone toward an Israeli military force in southern Lebanon. The drone did not explode, and no casualties or damage were reported. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) chose not to disclose the incident to the public.

The drone was launched near the Ali Taher ridge, an area where the IDF believes Hezbollah militants are attempting to assist terrorists trapped in an underground tunnel network to escape. In the past week, the IDF detected several escape attempts by militants from this complex; some were killed, while others managed to retreat back inside. It is estimated that about 15 militants remain trapped in the area.

Despite the clear breach of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF has not issued a formal response to the incident. When questioned about withholding the information, the IDF stated that it releases information based on operational considerations and assessments, and that the spokesperson will not share details that could endanger forces operating in combat zones.
