Maccabi Haifa's Amputee Team to Compete in Conference League Tournament in Bucharest

Maccabi Haifa's amputee football team, composed of Israeli national players, is set to participate in the upcoming Conference League tournament in Bucharest next month. The team will face off against Celtic from Scotland, Panathinaikos from Greece, and the local team Steaua Bucharest. This initiative began to take shape after October 7, with Sharon Paz serving as the coach.

Among the standout players is Ben Binyamin, who played for many years in Israel's National League and was injured while fleeing a Nova party. Another notable member is Ben Maman, a promising talent who was injured in a car accident. Other key players include Aviran Ohana and goalkeeper Or Hershkovitz. Maccabi Haifa has officially adopted the amputee football branch, hosting the team several times at Kfar Galim, including an exhibition match against the club's senior team.

This project highlights Maccabi Haifa's commitment to supporting athletes with disabilities and promoting inclusive sports within Israel. The team’s participation in an international tournament marks a significant milestone for amputee football in the region.
