Ichilov Medical Center and Majdal Shams Council Sign Partnership to Enhance Northern Israel Healthcare
Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv signed a cooperation agreement with the Majdal Shams local council on Wednesday to improve healthcare services for residents in northern Israel. Under the agreement, Ichilov will provide advanced telemedicine services and collaborate with the council to develop a dedicated rehabilitation center in Majdal Shams, aiming to bring quality medical care closer to the community.
The partnership also includes support for scientific research and education for children and youth through the community’s existing science learning center. The agreement was signed by Majdal Shams Council head Dolan Abu Salah and Ichilov’s management, who visited the town and met with local leaders.
This collaboration deepened following a tragic incident two years ago when a Hezbollah missile strike killed 12 children during a soccer game in Majdal Shams. Many of the injured were treated at Ichilov, fostering a close bond between the hospital and the community. During the visit, Ichilov officials toured a newly inaugurated memorial at the soccer field honoring the victims.
Ichilov CEO Prof. Eli Sprecher described the partnership as "a true alliance of shared values and mutual responsibility," emphasizing the importance of extending advanced medical care to all citizens. Council head Abu Salah expressed hope that this marked the beginning of a meaningful and courageous partnership that would significantly benefit the community’s welfare.
