MK Avi Maoz Urges Legal Ban on Islamic Movement Following Mansour Abbas Investigation

MK Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party, called on Israeli law enforcement to thoroughly investigate serious findings revealed in a Channel 14 exposé about Mansour Abbas, leader of the Ra'am party. Maoz accused Abbas and Ra'am of being an extension of the Muslim Brotherhood, from which Hamas originated, and warned that anyone seeking to undermine Israel's Jewish identity is not a legitimate partner in governance.

Maoz emphasized that forming a government with Ra'am's support endangers Israel's future, security, and Jewish character. He pledged that in the next government, efforts would be made to outlaw the Islamic Movement in all its factions. The call follows a Channel 14 documentary titled "Mansour Abbas: The Polite Jihad," which presented evidence of Abbas working to infiltrate Israeli decision-making centers under a civilian guise to advance Palestinian nationalist and Islamist goals.

The investigation included recordings of Abbas referring to Israel as the "Zionist enemy," denying Jewish rights to the Temple Mount and Western Wall, and describing Hamas as "the brothers." Abbas also advocated for the "liberation" of mosques and lands "seized" in "Palestine." The report further exposed financial and personal ties between Ra'am leaders and Islamic Movement-affiliated organizations, some of which funded or cooperated with terrorist groups including Hamas and operated in enemy states.

Maoz concluded by reiterating that anyone planning to establish a government with Ra'am's backing jeopardizes Israel's future, security, and Jewish identity. This statement comes amid ongoing debates about coalition formation and national security concerns related to Islamist political actors in Israel.
