MK Boaron Condemns Mansour Abbas and Questions Gadi Eizenkot’s Coalition Plans

MK Avichai Boaron sharply criticized Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Ra'am party, following a Channel 14 investigative report. Boaron accused Abbas and his party of hiding an extreme Islamist nationalist worldview behind their rhetoric of partnership and citizenship. He claimed Abbas’s vision aligns with the Muslim Brotherhood’s dream of a single Palestinian state, stating that this should raise alarm among Israeli citizens.

Boaron highlighted that Abbas led the organization "Amuta 48," which was shut down for allegedly funding Hamas in Gaza. He accused Abbas of promoting a discourse focused on "inside Palestine" within Israel’s pre-1967 borders and "outside Palestine" in the West Bank and Gaza. Boaron also directly challenged MK Gadi Eizenkot, who seeks to form a government relying on Ra'am’s support, demanding he explain to the public how he intends to govern Israel with Abbas’s party.

The Channel 14 investigation revealed footage of Abbas referring to Israel as the "Zionist enemy," denying Jewish rights to the Temple Mount, Western Wall, and Jerusalem, and calling Hamas "brothers." The report also presented allegations of links between Ra'am figures and Islamic Movement-affiliated organizations accused of ties to terrorist groups and funding their activities.

Boaron’s comments come amid ongoing political debates over coalition formation, with Ra'am’s role under scrutiny due to these revelations. The investigation has intensified concerns about the ideological positions within Ra'am and their implications for Israeli governance.
