Rabbi Akiva Wozner Urges Public to Support Bride Facing Severe Financial Hardship

Rabbi Akiva Wozner, a respected Torah authority, has made an unusual public appeal for assistance on behalf of a bride about to be married who is in an extremely difficult financial situation. Although the bride has living parents, Rabbi Wozner explained that due to complex circumstances she cannot rely on her family for support and is left without any financial backing. He described her as being in a halachic status akin to an orphan, emphasizing the urgency and severity of her plight.

In light of this, Rabbi Wozner called on charitable individuals to help cover the substantial wedding expenses. Following his appeal, the management of the charity organization Kuppat Ha'Ir established fund number 5875 to collect donations. The rabbis overseeing the fund set a participation target of 330 shekels per donor to meet the financial needs of the bride’s wedding.

Rabbi Wozner concluded his message with a special blessing for all who contribute, highlighting the great mitzvah of helping a deserving bride enter into a kosher marriage and build a proper Jewish home.
