Israeli Police Arrest Four West Bank Residents After Vehicle Hits Officer During Suspected Burglary Attempt

Early Wednesday morning, Israeli police from the Glilot station arrested four Palestinians from the West Bank and an Israeli driver from Lod on suspicion of planning a burglary. The suspects were caught in the Sharon area while allegedly en route to break into an apartment in the Gush Dan region. When police attempted to stop their vehicle, a Chevrolet Suburban, the suspects reversed, striking a police car and injuring an officer's leg. Officers fired at the vehicle's tires fearing for their safety, but no one was seriously hurt.

During the arrest and subsequent search of the vehicle, police found numerous specialized burglary tools and stolen property believed to be linked to a series of break-ins targeting apartments and storage units across Gush Dan. The suspects were taken to Glilot police station for questioning and are scheduled for a remand hearing at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court.

This incident follows a recent arrest of a 31-year-old resident of Afula suspected of breaking into a business office in Tel Aviv. The police continue to crack down on illegal residency and related criminal activities in central Israel.
