Herzog Sends Trump Birthday Tribute Praising U.S.-Israel Ties
Israeli President Isaac Herzog sent a special birthday greeting on Sunday to U.S. President Donald Trump, marking Trump’s 80th birthday. Herzog wrote, “Happy 80th birthday, President Donald Trump!”
He said Trump’s rise to the White House was “a clear expression of the strength of the American dream” and of “the extraordinary determination” that carried him there. Herzog added that “the people of Israel will never forget your tireless efforts” to secure the release of Israel’s hostages, using the phrase “the dear hostages” for those held captive. He wished Trump would continue guiding the Middle East and the world toward “a future of peace and security,” while further strengthening the unique alliance between the United States and Israel.
Citing a Jewish tradition, Herzog noted that at age 80 one reaches “gevurot,” a term associated with strength. He closed by wishing Trump many more years with his family, health, happiness, and more blessed birthdays.
