Israeli Man Charged for Smuggling Gaza Residents into Israel for 50 Shekels Each

A 74-year-old resident of Kafr Qana has been indicted for transporting two illegal Gaza residents into Israel in exchange for 50 shekels per person. The incident occurred last week during a Northern District police operation in Kafr Qana, where officers spotted a vehicle carrying the two Palestinians, aged 37 and 54, who were inside Israel without permits. When one of the passengers noticed the police, he attempted to hide his face, prompting the officers to follow and stop the vehicle. Upon inspection, the two Gaza residents were found in the car and subsequently arrested along with the driver. A police video shows one of the passengers handing over his Palestinian ID before being detained. The driver admitted to providing transportation to West Bank residents as a source of supplementary income. Following the investigation, the Nazareth police prosecution unit filed charges and requested detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings against all three individuals.
