Israeli Bride Wears Unique Biblical Song of Songs Wedding Dress, Sparks Viral Campaign

Liora, a bride from Tel Aviv's Nachalat Binyamin, designed a one-of-a-kind wedding dress inspired by the biblical Song of Songs. The idea came to her spontaneously when she spotted white fabric printed with verses from the Song of Songs, and she decided to create a wedding gown that was original and unprecedented in Israel and beyond. Over six months, Liora, a wedding dress designer, and her fiancé Gabriel worked tirelessly to find suitable fabrics and perfect the dress, which features embroidered verses and messages promoting love and kindness, such as "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Gabriel supported Liora's vision from the start, describing the dress as possibly the first of its kind in the country. Their love story is also unique: they met as teenagers, got engaged at 17, separated for a time, and reunited to marry at 22. The dress symbolizes their journey of growth, patience, and renewed commitment.

The couple faced some criticism over the use of biblical texts on the dress, but they clarified that the verses were artistically adapted and not exact scriptural quotes, avoiding any halachic issues. The dress and wedding photos went viral on social media, receiving over a thousand mostly positive messages, with many praising the purity and sanctity the dress represented.

Currently, the couple is involved in a confidential campaign related to wedding dresses and hopes to inspire more brides to embrace meaningful and sacred designs in the future.
