Philanthropist Yoeli Landa Pledges $1 Million for Legal Fight Against Yeshiva Drafts and Celebrations Support

Renowned Satmar philanthropist Rabbi Yoeli Landa, known for his dedication to Torah institutions, met today with Rabbi Yechiel Chaim Lieberman, head of the Or Chaim rabbinical court and leader of the Meknovka Belz yeshiva, at the residence of the Gur Rebbe. During the meeting, held in the Rebbe's chamber, Landa presented a plan to establish a legal fund aimed at combating sanctions and arrests of yeshiva students related to military conscription. The fund will also coordinate the broader struggle against drafting yeshiva students, including utilizing international legal tools. Under this initiative, every yeshiva student will receive legal assistance from the fund as needed. Landa committed to contributing one million dollars alongside his associates to support this cause.

Additionally, Rabbi Nechemia Alter, who participated in the meeting, announced that Landa will donate two celebration halls for the Hasidic community to hold weddings and other joyous events in accordance with community regulations. One hall will be located in Jerusalem and the other in Arad.
