Poll Shows Overwhelming Israeli Opposition to Gaza Withdrawal and Low Trust in Trump
A recent News 14 poll conducted on August 3, 2026, reveals strong public opposition in Israel to a withdrawal from the Gaza Strip before Hamas is disarmed. According to the survey of 588 adults by NEXT DATA, 87% of respondents oppose retreating from the "yellow line" in Gaza prior to dismantling Hamas's military capabilities, while only 8% support such a move and 5% have no opinion.
The poll also examined public opinion on Defense Minister Israel Katz's handling of the replacement of Central Command Chief Major General Avi Blot. A majority of 64% believe Katz erred in his conduct, compared to 22% who support his actions and 4% undecided. Katz has dismissed criticism as a "complete lie and a political campaign against the government."
Regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's policy toward Iran, 73% of Israelis surveyed think Trump is mistaken in his approach, with 13% agreeing with him and 14% undecided. Additionally, the poll highlights strong public demand for legal action against alleged corruption among Democratic Party candidates in the United States. A significant 79% call on Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to open a criminal investigation, while 9% oppose it and 12% have no stance.
